Hello Eat Your Green-ers,
Aaaand that’s a wrap, folks. We’re outta here….haha no not really, but we’re definitely ready for a little break after this rollercoaster of a year. Last boxes of 2020 either already delivered or sitting on the van right now. We’re going to be selling veg from the shop next week- Tuesday 22nd afternoon (2-6pm) and Wed 23rd morning (9.30am-1.30pm).
A massive thank you to every one of you for your support this year. We feel very lucky to be doing what we’re doing. Happy Christmas and here’s to 2021 being a brilliant year for veg!
What’s been happening this week? I can just repeat what we wrote last week – rain, drizzle, and more rain…yes we did get a glimpse of sunshine but not enough! The beds are still sodden so there’s not much work we can do as don’t want to damage the soil. We’ve picked up the mahuuusive (!) tarpaulins so we can put them down to suppress weeds. Exciting news is that our seeds for next year have arrived from Real Seeds. These are all open pollinated seeds which means we can save them for future years. Food sovereignty is something that we’ve been becoming increasingly aware of – with most seeds being owned by large companies. The aim is to use seeds that are adapted to our local area. More to come on this as we start sowing (can’t think about that yet!).
The Vale Grocer shop: This week we’re open Friday morning (tomorrow) as usual 9.30am-1.30pm. Next week we’ll be open Tuesday 22nd 2-6pm and Wed 23rd 9.30am-1.30pm. The address is 11 Mount Pleasant, Denbigh, LL16 3LS. Please bring your own bag and remember it’s cash only.
The list is below of what we’ve got in next week. If you know what you want and are relying on us for your veg then it’s probably a good idea to send an email with a list so we can box it up for you – we are likely to run out of some things as we didn’t want to over-order and waste veg.
